AnaEE is a conference dedicated to ecosystem experimentation and manipulation for climate risk assessment and sustainable solutions.
The 2nd AnaEE Science Conference brings together leading ecosystem scientists to advance our understanding of how ecosystems can withstand and adapt to global environmental change.
The conference spans experimental approaches to global change ecology, forest and agricultural resilience, aquatic-terrestrial interactions, and innovative data integration methods.
During the conference, researchers and stakeholders will come together to share the latest advances in ecosystem experimentation, discuss challenges related to climate adaptation and biodiversity resilience, and explore how scientific knowledge can inform evidence-based policies for sustainable ecosystem management.
Dr Nathalie Hilmi will represent MedECC at this conference.
She is the Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) of the MedECC Special Report on climate and environmental coastal risks. Dr. Hilmi heads the Environmental Economics section at the Scientific Centre of Monaco. She is a Lead Author of the IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC) and of the Working Group II contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6). She also contributed to the cross-chapter on the Mediterranean region.
She will be a Keynote speaker in Session 5: « Nature-based Solutions for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation », with the talk entitled: « Marine ecosystems and their services as Blue Carbon ». The session will explore how scientific insights can be translated into action to support ecosystem management and restoration, with a focus on climate adaptation and mitigation, biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and disaster risk reduction. Contributions with a strong policy-oriented perspective are particularly encouraged.
Dr. Hilmi will also present the poster entitled “An assessment of climate and environmental coastal risks in the Mediterranean”, based on the MedECC Special Report on climate and environmental coastal risks and co-authored with Piero Lionello, Salpie Djoundourian, Maria Carmen Llasat, Mohamed Abdrabo, Murat Belivermis, Z Selmin Burak, Dario Camuffo, José A. Jimenez, Suzan Kholeif, Stefano Moncada, Anna Pirani, Agustin Sanchez-Arcilla, Athanasios T. Vafeidis, Julie Gattacceca, Kasia Marini, and Joel Guiot.
