Connecting Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa: ECOP very first Mediterranean Annual Ocean Fair

The goal of the ECOP Programme is to support early career ocean professionals (ECOPs) in their capacity development and work by providing meaningful networking, training, professional development, funding opportunities and creating capacity for cooperation and knowledge exchange. We are very proud to have joined their very first Mediterranean Annual Ocean Fair, which happened on 6 and 7 May 2025.

This two-day online event has been designed to strengthen connections between stakeholders and ECOPs across Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa. The event featured companies working in innovation, marine research, ocean governance and capacity development, and highlighted the work of ECOP Programme nodes and project teams. Speakers from across the ECOP Programme’s nodes plus our ocean literacy and capacity development teams and partners addressed the two days event. Special guests included:

  • Mathew Kuttivadakkethil Avarachen from ECOP Norway
  • Alexandra Neyts from EATIP: European Aquaculture Technology and Innovation Platform
  • Fredrik Soreide from ProMare: Promoting Marine Research and Exploration
  • Julie Gattacceca from MedECC Secretariat
