MedECC is pleased to announce its participation in the 2nd Mediterranean Green Week! Convened by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), this major regional event aims to advance collective action on climate and environmental challenges across the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Overview
Taking place in Brussels from 24 to 27 June 2025, this high-level event will bring together representatives from all 43 UfM Member States, alongside civil society, youth organisations, academic experts, and private sector stakeholders. The event aims to promote cross-sectoral cooperation and innovative solutions in areas such as: climate adaptation and mitigation, environmental sustainability, resilient infrastructure, the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) nexus, inclusive green energy transition.
Contribution of MedECC experts
MedECC is proud to contribute to two panel sessions scheduled on 25 June:
- Joël Guiot, MedECC co-Coordinator, will participate in the session “Connecting the Dots: Scientific Intelligence for Policy Action”. He will share insights on the importance of integrated, interdisciplinary science to support evidence-based policymaking in the Mediterranean region.
- Mohamed Abdel Monem, member of the MedECC Steering Committee and co-Coordinator of the MedECC Special Report on the WEFE nexus, will speak during the dedicated session on the WEFE Nexus. He will present key findings and discuss how scientific collaboration can guide sustainable resource management in interconnected systems.
This 2nd edition of the Mediterranean Green Week reflects a growing recognition of the importance of the science-policy interface in building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Mediterranean. MedECC remains committed to supporting this effort through scientific assessments and active participation in regional dialogue.
