Andrea Dessì (Ph.D.) is Assistant Professor in International Relations and Global Politics at the American University of Rome (AUR) and Scientific Advisor at the policy think tank, the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), where he previously headed the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa programme and the Italian Foreign Policy programme. His areas of expertise span Middle East history and politics, EU and US foreign policy, Historical Sociology, and Foreign Policy Analysis. Research interests include political economy, security studies and the intersection between global and regional trends and developments, including in the energy domain and the impact of climate change.
