MedECC is pleased to announce its participation in the 3rd Mediterranean Green Week! Convened by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), this major regional event aims to advance collective action on climate and environmental challenges across the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Overview
The Mediterranean Green Week is the UfM’s annual event dedicated to advancing regional cooperation on the green transition and climate resilience in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The 3rd edition will take place fully online (30 June – 3 July 2026) and will bring together UfM Member States, institutional partners, civil society organisations, financial institutions, experts and the wider public around four connected priorities: climate action, energy transition, water resilience, and civil protection and disaster risk management.
At a time when the Mediterranean is facing rising climate impacts, water stress, energy pressures and increasing natural hazards, the Mediterranean Green Week offers a regional platform to connect policy dialogue, technical cooperation and public engagement for a more resilient and sustainable Mediterranean.
This 3rd edition of the Mediterranean Green Week reflects a growing recognition of the importance of the science-policy interface in building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable Mediterranean. MedECC remains committed to supporting this effort through scientific assessments and active participation in regional dialogue.
Joël Guiot (CEREGE, CNRS, France), Co-coordinator of MedECC will present the MAR2 assessment, following on from MAR1, during the public conference “Mediterranean Climate Action: Evidence, Finance & Partnerships.” This ties into the ongoing work on the Climate Action Plan (CAP) and preparations for COP31.
