Irem Daloğlu Çetinkaya
Irem Daloğlu Çetinkaya specializes in social-ecological systems modeling at Boğaziçi University's Institute of Environmental Sciences, where she has been a faculty member since 2015. She holds a bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from Middle East Technical University, a master's degree in Engineering Management from Northeastern University, Boston, and a PhD in Resource Ecology and Management from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Her research focuses on the dynamics and governance of social-ecological systems under climate change, with particular emphasis on freshwater sustainability and the water–food–ecosystem nexus in the Mediterranean region. She develops integrated modeling frameworks to assess freshwater sustainability, ecosystem services, and adaptive water governance across Mediterranean basins. A central dimension of her work involves participatory approaches, co-designing models stakeholders to support sustainable resource management.
