We are happy to inform you the the 1st Mediterranean Assessment Report (MAR1) prepared by MedECC has been released in November 2020. Now it undergoes typesetting and it will be printed in 2021. Another great piece of news of the last trimester is that MedECC received the North-South Prize 2020 from the Council of Europe. You may find all the details, as well as other news here below.

1st MEDITERRANEAN ASSESSMENT REPORT and NORTH SOUTH PRIZE 2020

1st Mediterranean Assessment Report The First Mediterranean Assessment Report (MAR1) prepared by MedECC is now released. MAR1 assesses the best available scientific knowledge on climate and environmental change and associated risks in the Mediterranean Basin in order to render it accessible to policymakers, stakeholders and citizens. The report has been written by 190 scientists from 25 countries. Several press releases have been published in relation to this publication. Its main results have been summarized here.

On the 13 November 2020 the jury of the North-South Prize of the Council of Europe decided to award the 2020 Prize to the Mediterranean Experts on Climate and Environmental Change (MedECC) network and to the International Commission against the Death Penalty (ICDP).
|

On 14 December 2020, a mere 48 hours after the Climate Ambition Summit, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) organized an online encounter with its members and with lawmakers from across the region.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
On the occasion of the 25thanniversary of the Barcelona Process, during the 5th Union for the Mediterranean Regional Forum 25 successful initiatives of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation promoted by civil society actors were selected to participate in the online exhibition. MedECC was one of them.

The Med2020 conference coorganised by MISTRALS programme, MedECC and Plan Bleu was held from 16 to 18 November 2020 online. This event gathered more than 280 participants.
