Prof. Maya Negev heads the Health and Climate Resilience Lab and the MPH Program in Health Policy and Administration at the School of Public Health, University of Haifa. Her research focuses on the science-policy interface in climate change and public health, with particular attention to climate vulnerability and resilience at the local, regional, and global levels, as well as the public health co-benefits of climate action.

Her work spans three main areas: mapping climate-related hazards, exposures, and vulnerabilities across population groups; advancing understanding of the public health impacts of climate change; and supporting adaptation and resilience through the development of evidence to inform policy and practice.

Using quantitative, qualitative, and participatory methods within an interdisciplinary framework, her lab works to deepen understanding of environmental health risks and to promote evidence-based public health policy.

Prof. Negev serves on the policy committee of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology and chairs the Board of Directors of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies, a leading academic institute for cross-border environmental studies in the Middle East.
